Last of the snow

Two boards take a breather before tackling the Combe de CaronJust back from a long weekend in Val Thorens. The snow cover was still good despite high temperatures and many of the upper runs were in great shape. Lower down the snow was melting fast but we were able to make the most of what there was.

The picture shows the view from the top of the Cime de Caron at 3,200 m looking south towards Italy. Our boards were having a quick rest before tackling the superb Combe de Caron black run down to the base of the cable car station.

Great site - I've been checking it out for a while now.

I'm currently in Japan and have a blog - and I noticed your post about wanting to check out other snowboard blogs.

Whilst my blog is not purely about snowboarding, there is a fair amount of snowboard related posts, including some backcountry trip reports.

cheers

I've just posted a full trip report with pics of my last ride of the season - a back country hike up a mountain called Haku San here in Japan.

Check it out if you're that way inclined.
